What does a celebrant actually do, and how do I know if they’re ‘us’?

A celebrant is more than just someone who stands at the front of your ceremony and reads a script — they’re the person who brings your vision for your wedding day to life. They’re responsible for making sure your ceremony is legally binding by saying the necessary legal words, but they also play a huge role in creating a ceremony that reflects your love story, values, and personalities.
From the initial consultation to the final moments of your vows, your celebrant will guide you through the process, help you craft your vows, choose the right readings, and offer suggestions for rituals that make your ceremony unique.
To find out if a celebrant is "you," it’s important to consider not just their qualifications, but their style and energy. Are they warm and engaging? Do they listen to your ideas and make you feel comfortable? A great celebrant should feel like a natural fit — someone who understands your vision and can take the lead when necessary, while making sure the ceremony is still authentically yours. They should also be approachable, flexible, and genuinely excited to be part of your big day. You’ll know they’re “your person” if they listen carefully, ask the right questions, and make you feel supported every step of the way.
The connection between you and your celebrant is key, and it starts with finding someone you’re comfortable with and whose personality aligns with your own. If you feel at ease with them, trust them to help shape your ceremony, and find their style of ceremony delivery to be in sync with what you want — then you’ve likely found your celebrant!
As your celebrant, my goal is to create a relaxed and stress-free experience, ensuring that the ceremony feels meaningful, memorable, and authentically you. Let’s make your wedding day just as you’ve always imagined.
